FIGMENT NYC 2011

Strange Bugs! will be on show this Summer on Governors Island in the FIGMENT Terrace Sculpture Garden. these highly interactive sculpture projects will be open and free for the public to enjoy while the island is open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from May 27 to September 25, 2011.

What:
FIGMENT is an explosion of creative energy. It’s a free, annual celebration of participatory art and culture where everything is possible. For one weekend each summer, it transforms Governors Island into a large-scale collaborative artwork – and then it’s gone.

When:
Friday, June 10 — 10AM – 4PM
Saturday, June 11 — 10AM – 6PM
Sunday, June 12 — 10AM – 6PM

Where:
Governors Island, NYC… a free, short ferry-ride from lower Manhattan and Brooklyn!

FREE! FIGMENT is a free, non-profit event, and we do not accept corporate sponsorships.

What to Bring:
Whatever you need for a day of fun. For specific ideas or if you have specific questions, view our list!
Note: The event is rain-or-shine. If the forecast calls for rain, be prepared to hide – or dance – under porches, arches, and umbrellas while the clouds pass.

Art and activities in every medium available… especially the art and activities that YOU bring! Feel free to see a full schedule of all the 2010 artwork and activities. In addition, we invite iPhone users to install the FIGMENT iPhone App – which you can download for free from the App Store.
